On this holy day of 18th July, the beginning of Kataka (this is ramas lagna and is called the sacred moth of Ramayana *) let me offer this Romantic musical story in memory of Rama... They say that…..all your sins will be washed off if you listen to this with faith….
King Dasratha’s joy was beyond compare and he told his wives
“Ik puttar banavoonga khi thera puja karoonga”
After getting the boon for begetting children...
He conducted a homa... and with the mango Prasad... The three queens bore children; four children were born.
When Rama was born there were celebrations amongst people of Ayodhya
“Ramayya vastavayya meine dil tujhko diya”...
Ram grew up to be a man. Along with Lakshman, he went to the forest with vishwamitra to help him in his yagna. While coming back they went to Myhthila ruled by Janaka...
There he saw Sita, daughter of king Janaka, looking at him from palace window
“Ankhon ankhon mein baath hone do ...”
Love was born
“Tumne muje dekha ...hokar mehrbaan ...”
And when Rama broke the bow in the “suyamvarah”(marriage contest) held by Janaka to search for a groom... Sita came and garlanded him
“Tu hai mera prem devta ….in charanon khi dasi hun mein”
Back home trouble was brewing.....Kaikeyi (mother of Bharatha) wanted Dashrath to give the throne to her son and not Ram( son of kausalya) and requested Dasarath to send Ram to forest for fourteen years...... reminding him of his promise of a boon he had made to her when she saved his life in a battle...
“Jo vaada kiya ho nibhana padega...”
After pleading and failing Dashrath cries out
” Kasme vade nibhayenge ham....”
Rama accompanied by Sita and Lakshman depart to the forest
King Dasarath was beyond himself with grief…
” Aaa jaa re.. phir thera dil pukara... Ro ro ke Maine hara ,badnam huyi pyar kha... “
He faints and departs from the world...
In the forest, the beautiful surpanaka, sister of Ravan, falls in love with Lakshman; she sidles upto him
“Raath akeli hai ...buj Gaye diye aake mere paas .....”
Lakshman is enraged and cuts her nose off; bleeding profusely she appeals to Ravan for revenge.
Ravan comes to sita’s hut dressed as a yogi, after luring Rama away.
“Na mange mein sona chandi mange darshan Devi Teri dwar khada ik jogi”
Sita steps out of the safety rekha drawn by Lakshman, who went to help his brother...
And Ravan in the form of jogi grabs her and flies away to his kingdom with her...
Rama returns and was terribly upset...starts searching for her
“Mein tho her mode per thujkho dunda chala...”
He learns from Jatayu, the giant eagle who tried to rescue sita that Ravan has taken her...
Hanuman and sugreeva, the deposed prince of Kishkinda wanted to enlist the support of Rama to regain the lost kingdom from his brother Vali...
Ram agreed to kill Vali in return for Sugreeva’s support to search for Sita and conquer Ravan.
Vali had great regard and love for Rama and had wanted to meet him as a friend; but he was tricked by Sugreeva and was shot by an arrow by Rama from behind; vali was deeply hurt
“Jaane woh kaise log the jisne pyar se pyar mila...Hamne tho jab khalian mangee khanton kha har mila”
Thus totally disillusioned with Rama vali breathes his last...
After ascending the throne, sugreeva sends a team of vanaras (monkey humans) to search for sita...
Coming near the coast across Lanka... Hanuman takes a leap...
He jumps on to the other side of Sri Lanka and enters the fort ,reaches the Ashok vana
"Koyi louta de mere... beethe huye din...”Sita’s voice fills the air.
Hanuman realises that she is Sita and gives her Rama’s ring as a proof of his identity; He promises that Rama would soon come and take her.
After burning down half of Sri Lanka he flies down to Rama with the good news.
Rama and his troupes enter lanka and pulverise the army of Ravan, Ravan and his family are defeated and annihilated.
"aah ab lout chalen..."
Rama returns victorious to Ayodhya, now being ruled on his behalf by his brother Bharath. It is now the crowning of Rama... Happy times are here again
It is Ramarajya now…
“Tumse acchcha kaun hain ….….hum tumhare hai sanam”
Dear readers come again
“Aaja aaja mein hoon pyar thera alalh allah inkar thera...”
(Dear friends .....There are lots of mistakes in Hindi words... I have never been focused on words so excuse me for the mistakes...If you have a good song to add …. Pease do so…. Thanks to Kalpita the originator ; I am sure she will excuse me for not following her rules...)
